One aspect of this trip that makes it unique for our family is how last minute it is. We decided to go on this trip only three weeks before our departure date. This means we will be planning our trip as we go. However, some activities and travel dates have been planned and in this section I will focus on our China leg of the trip, from June 5th to June 12th.
June 5th: Take an overnight flight from Denver to Seattle, Washington and then settle in for a long flight from Seattle to Pudong International Airport in Shanghai, China
June 6th: Take a breakfast food tour of Shanghai to get an idea of the foreign food culture and find our favorite eats. After we will relax with a Chinese foot massage. After all, the foot is the window to the soul.
June 7th: Let's just play it by ear
June 8th: Let's just play it by ear
June 9th: Take a train with my mom from Shanghai to Beijing, China and see the scenery along the way. Once in Beijing we will meet with my dad, flying in from Shanghai, and go on a dinner tour of the city.
June 10th: Leave our hotel in Beijing behind and depart for a 2 day hike on the Great Wall of China. On this day we will hike for approximately five hours until eventually reaching a Chinese Farmhouse, which will host us for the night.
June 11th: Say goodbye to our hosts and begin the 2nd leg of our hike, which is 3 hours long. This leg is said to be on one of the most picturesque parts of the Great Wall of China. After finishing our hike we will return to Shanghai, China on a 12 hour overnight train ride and prepare to leave China the next day.
June 12th: Depart from China to head to Singapore
Note: As the internet in China is controlled by the government, I am unsure of wether of not I will be able to access this website to publish blogs. If there are no updates before June 12th do not worry. I will continue to write blog posts and will publish them upon our arrival in Singapore should my access be restricted.
