Today was our day off. In other words, my mom and I slept in until noon and stayed very relaxed. After waking up a bit we headed down to a restaurant called Real Food, which was our kind of place. There wasn't a single menu item with meat in it and almost every item was vegan. For the first time this trip, there were also many gluten free options. We got some yummy beancurd (tofu's Asian name) dumplings and my mom got some really good quinoa milk. When I ordered my main meal I got a pumpkin apple salad. Little did I know it was a bowl with some lettuce and a 3.5 cup jar of vegetables, fruits, and chickpeas to add to the lettuce. I was so so happy. It has been really hard to find fresh vegetables and fruits on this trip that we can eat. There are many for sale, but our bodies can't process many foreign bacteria, making washing them well enough really hard. We have really been missing our clean eating lifestyle at home so a huge bowl of raw vegetables, with the exception of steamed pumpkin and potato, was a relief. They even had some dark chocolate that wasn't sweetened with anything but coconut nectar. Feeling nourished, we returned to the hotel and checked out the 18th floor. This floor is home to the gym, infinity pool, game tables, and it is open air. We loved it up there and decided to go back to our room to get some things to do and then return to actually do them in the fresh air.

I was feeling much better and like the majority of my sickness passed so I put on my running clothes and headed to their gym. The treadmills had screens that allowed you to pick one of a few trails and it had a video of it so you felt like you were running outside rather than on a treadmill. After a nice run I even got to do some weights. It feels good to finally be back.

My dad finished his meeting and met us up on the open air floor and we all headed to get some snacks. My dad then went to get some host gifts because we were going to eat dinner at the house of someone he once worked with, Darren. Meanwhile, my mom and I went to get some pedicures for fun. It was a really nice salon that even served tea with the pedicures.

Toes groomed, we met up with my dad and headed out to his Darren's apartment in an Uber. When we got there we tried to use the elevator to get their floor, but pressing the buttons didn't work and we got worried because it was instantly hot in the elevator. Luckily, someone came to use the elevator and the one we were in opened, letting us out. We later found the open door button, I guess we didn't need to panic. Not wanting to get suck in the elevator, Darren came down to get us and take us to his apartment.

He is from the US and has lived in Singapore for three years with his five year old twins and wife. They were super nice and their helper, Fefe, cooked us a yummy dinner of pumpkin pasta, curry, and rice. We got to talk to them about moving and adjusting to life in Singapore, which was interesting. After dessert and some fruit we kept chatting and eventually noticed it was midnight. We headed back to our hotel, exhausted and fell straight asleep. Lucky for us, the fire alarm went off, further compromising our sleep. My dad stayed in bed while my mom and I got up to see what to do. Turns out it was just a false alarm, which happened to us when we went to Hawaii too. False alarms must follow us everywhere. After the alarm we were so tired that we were lucky enough to hit the bed like bricks.
