After a quick breakfast at the hotel and a check around the room for unpacked items we headed to the airport. Once through immigration and quarantine, we wandered the airport looking for something to spend our few remaining Yuan on. Wandering through shop after shop we came across may strange items such as packaged chicken foot and many panda adorned items. Eventually we settled for a bottle of water, which we ended up needing very much after all that mindless wandering. When we got to our gate I was amused to see an NBA game playing. Our flight about five hours, which offered up plenty of time for me to catch up on some free Disney movies.
Once we landed in Singapore we noticed the heat right away. After all, we are only one degree away from the equator here. After being admitted into the country it took us quite a while to figure out how to get subway passes because you could only get them from machines, which only accepted small cash, which we did not have. Eventually we got them and headed for our hotel to meet my dad, who arrived earlier on a separate flight.
At our hotel I certainly didn't expect our room to be as fancy as it is. The blinds are controlled with a TV remote as well as air conditioning and the lights. We also happen to have a bidet, which I find to be odd. After getting some lunch my mom, dad, and I walked out toward the nearby Marina Bay. We were able to see the Helix Bridge, which is just what it sounds like, a Museum, which looks like a hand, a ferris wheel, a concert stage, and huge mall, and the Marina Bay Sands. After quite a bit of raining we watched the amazing laser show the Marina Bay Sands puts on at night, complete with dramatic music, lights, and fountains. Tired, we continued walking around the bay until eventually getting back to our hotel.
